The LOLIPOP Project is pleased to be part of the High-Speed Optical Modulators Workshop, taking place on 11–12 June 2026 at iGent, Ghent, Belgium, and online.
Organized by ePIXfab and several European photonics initiatives, the workshop brings together experts from across the high-speed optical modulators ecosystem to discuss recent advances, emerging research directions, and real-world applications in integrated photonics and optical communication technologies.
As part of the programme, George Megas from ICCS/PCRL will deliver a presentation titled:
“Characterization and System-Level Testing of High-Speed Tunable Optical Transmitters Based on LNOI- and InP-Modulator Platforms”
His talk will focus on methodologies for testing and characterizing next-generation wavelength-tunable optical transmitters, highlighting their performance under realistic communication environments. The presentation will address key aspects such as laboratory prototyping, system-level validation, transmission performance, BER measurements, eye diagrams, and interoperability with SFP transceivers.
For LOLIPOP, this workshop represents an important opportunity to exchange knowledge with leading European projects and researchers working on advanced photonic technologies. It also highlights the strong collaboration between complementary initiatives that are helping shape the future of high-speed, energy-efficient and scalable optical communication systems.
The event will also feature invited talks, poster sessions, and networking opportunities, encouraging collaboration between academic, research and industrial communities.
